sushi D

last night i ate at sushi D 207 dekalb ave (near adelphi) 718.858.0058 besides the fact that i am a child and chuckle at the name of the place (bc i refer to penis' as "d's" or "d" :) i give this spot an "ok". it looks really nice but is pretty standard and generic. i will give them a gold star for giving us a small bowl of edamame when we sat (i always order this and it was cool to get some for frizzle). the veggie tempura was nice and HOT and crisp and the yakatori (chicken) was pretty good as well. so was my special roll (spicy tuna with crunchy flakes, avocado and spicy sauce). the avocado was not ripe yet (-5 points) but all in all was good. the dining buddy has a recession special for $23. one app, one entree and a dessert. he ordered the chef's special/choice assorted sashimi and was bummed when it came out with the most typical of 4 types of fish. salmon, tuna, yellowtail and something else super standard (-8 points). otherwise it was pretty decent and fresh i suppose.
