this communal bike thing is pretty cool- catching on in a lot of major cities and is a great idea i think. its already done all over europe it's time we start being cool too.

weekend bloggin

this weekend was fairly sweet. friday was drinks w the work buddies at sixth ward, the skinny and r bar (i think)? was a wee on the wasted side and made it home around 2:30 with 2 different types of bags of potato chips. saturday i gave a mini walking tour of willy to arjun! and went to have my fav mexican of all time w the all time best mjr. then off to berry park w liz for a much needed drink! sunday was a wash- literally and bummed around alll day and made it out for a sec to get fabiannes and italian... blah. yet another crazy busy work week ahead... so perhaps another weekend of drinking to come as well? stay tuned....

another cool side-note: my friends' band is raising $$ to buy a van/trailer and tour the country. they are all so cute and made their own video to promote the cause! check it and them here:

the ville!

busy as a bee! little to no time to update the neglected chili bowl! just a few photos to remember this weekend. foldable sporks, bobble heads, old friends, lots of beer and food were the elements of this past weekend. never enough time to spend in nashville- each time i go i don't want to leave the weather, the fam, and the slow movin pace.... the creek where we used to play looks sooo much smaller than when i was 12- but the elliston place soda shop always stays the same!

yep i'm a dork!

yesterday i had jury duty and while i was peeved at first that i had to go i quite enjoyed it. maybe bc it's all the tv drama i watch coming to life? maybe it's bc one of our "systems" in this country actually seems to be working. either way, i enjoyed seeing all the different types of people, opinions, situations (bc you sit and are interviewed with about 20 people). it's also interesting to see lawyers at work- particularly when they rep the city of nyc and the transit system... i was super close to sitting on the jury and only got out of it bc i am on a flight tomorrow. kinda bummed i'm not gonna lie- is that weird? i would have liked to participate and deliberated w others abt the outcome. i'm sure if it were a criminal case i would be more apprehensive, but in this case i was interested to sit in a real court room, hear arguments and see evidence from both sides. verrrrry interesting....

with all these new openings in hip to death williamsburg it's gonna be a good summer of all types of eating and drinking! spuyten duyvil/fette sau owner is opening a new spot on metropolitan called st. anselm to serve amazing hot dogs, sausage and peppers, meatballs etc. i trust this fella so i need say no more!

last night was tax night! wooo hoo. and then williamsburger w anthony. the chicken burger (which i forced myself to have since it would be "healthier" than more red meat) was pretty damn perfect and so was the side order of half sour pickles. the chili cheese fries however- much too soggy and waaaay too much beer used in their chili! anyhoo- ant can always make a lady feel great no matter how dumpy she's feeling. i heart him and like many of my local friends i don't see him enough... i have never ever known a man to be more picky and more proper about the ladies but he has the right to be, that's for sure! can't wait for him to finally marry one of the models he photographs on the regular and live happily ever after!

not quite sure HOW i can even begin to think of food this am when last night i finally took liz/russ/david/chris (elise who is sweet as a button! doesn't count bc she had been) to LUGERS (need i provide the address??). not only will i be eating pb&j or ramen for the next week after dropping the expected $70 but i say its worth it every once in a while. my fav was the spinach and the onion rings and obvi the dessert at the end. my stomach is still "working" with last nights feast but she will recover. russ now knows the LOVE of schlag! and he and liz understand that i did not dream it up! dinner was lovely and so was the company! until next year when i decide to indulge again....

the weekend was a sunny good one! a lil too much drinkin w the ladies and others but hey- it's spring!! last night was the finale of my husbands show 'how to make it in america' and now am at a loss re what to do on sunday nights :( HOWEVER the new show i want to catch premieres next sunday 'treme' w john goodman and is based on new orleans and the people's lives after katrina- it looks like it'll b great.

also saw meet joe black for the first time ever last night (yes,the first time) am not a huge brad pitt fan but the movie was pretty alright. claire forlani is beautiful but still annoying- just like renee zellweger and kristen stewart they always look like they are holding their breath and are about to die and pass out of hyper emotion (??) trying to be all intense like... bugs me. anyway, the movie was alright- anthony hopkins was the best part of it and joe pretty much encompasses every man on the planet- in one day, out the next, totally alive, totally dead blah blah blah.

case of the mondays! WAIT- i just found a cadbury creme egg on the ping pong table- today will be a great day!

1L shortage!!

soooo, i am a teeeny tiny bit o.c.d sometimes... and i demand to have my 1 liter size smartwater! we are on a shotage of sorts and my homie mike from operations brought me a gigantic moving box full of smart from the warehouse!!! i can't even lift it to move/hide it BUT sweetest guy ever. i need to do something nice for him! i am guessing a bottle of whisky will make anyone happy(??) any suggestions?
