it's just too tempting to stay in bed and the rain blows esp when you have to schlep to the city at noon for a meeting and then come back to whitestone!! gag. it just makes everythig THAT much more a pain in the ass. in other news....

let's talk abt my morn shall we?

bc of this beautiful weather i was suuuuper sleepy and could barely get outta bed. upon doing so i was in a tad of a rush since i was abt 5-10 mins behind (SHOOT just remembered i didn't clean eek's "box"- oops. tht may cause a dispute later...) anyhoo, i took a near fatal slip on left over snow/ice and came dangerously close to a giant pile of dog poo- made off w only a shoe to clean (thank goodness for wipeys!) upon entering the car i realized the window was left slightly ajar and it rained (all night and morn) in my car. slightly disgruntled i went for my morning carpool pickup at oslo to grab mike/conor. conor is nice enough to get me coffee each morning for my troubles, but this am (of all of them) he sets the coffee on the roof and spills most of the cup into the back seat- everywhere.... i jump out to be a dork and grab my handy armor all wipes from the trunk. whilst frantically cleaning the back seat allll the coffee left on the roof dribbled onto my head! :)

ahhh the weekend

sad to recap the weekend on a monday at 8:44am when it seems like the next one is soooo far away but alas.... friday was a semi-lazy one w dinner/drink and a katherine heigel movie (blah she annoys). 

sat i had brunch w lara and her rents!! at vanderbilt 570 vanderbilt (at bergen) 718.623.0570 i have now completed the bandler family circle and again, wish i swung the gay way bc i would def marry lara and her whole fam! her mom and pop couldn't be sweeter.... i've been waiting to eat at ben's spot and brunch was damn good- now i can't wait for dinner! i had granola w greek yogurt and dried fruit (yea i don't know what came over me either but it was tasty none the less). everyone else's hanger steak and eggs and benedict looked marvelous but i was not w the largest appetite that day for some reason (??) then i ran some errands and lara came ovr to get ready w me for her friend will's b day at 1 oak 453 w 17th (bet 9/10th ave) the spot was pretty cool but i would prob not frequesnt it on a "normal" night w it's sheeshee crowd and red velvet rope etc. i learned to walk in my fav heels a bit better and i much preferred berry park 4 berry st (at n 14th) where lara and i ended the night. big space, good dj, nice mixed crowd.... 

sunday was super enjoyable w a trip to NJ!! (*note* DO NOT go to the REI in jerz it sucks!) a sister couldn't even find a decent pair of snow pants!? BUT did find a good car wash out there.... i ate at 2 new spots sunday which i am pretty excited to go back to: half king (23rd st and 10th ave) amazing "bar food" and brunch and a really cool space (psssst after 4pm they have burger shots and pigs in a blanket). and papacitos 999 manhattan ave (near huron) 718.349.7292 mexican is my fav and now this place is too. amazin' and i had delivery and it was still nice-n-fresh and just GOOD. guac is off charts and so are the (homemade) chips. soooo now that you've heard all about my weekend, you can go into your work week happily.....

i left our "party" at gold bar 389 broome (at mulberry) NOT 289 btw.... around 11:30 ish (i think) i am still hung over and feel a bit "unusual". most likely bc i didn't really eat a real dinner and drank an odd combo of makers, pbr jack and coke and then some rum??? oops! at least i feel i can control thyself and go home before it's late and i am extra miserable at work (no one else is even here!). can't wait to chill and be lazy later and sleep in tomorrow! just ordered a breakfast special and am willing to bet it helps me start the day right! 2 eggs ovr medium, potatoes, wheat toast (w american cheese) and a side of bacon (duh).

i caught a bit of the dog show on tele but i plucked a few pics from TONY's website. nothing pisses me off more than poodles (well some things- but lets not get into that this early in the am). nothing is cuter than a wiry haired mut scruppy (first pic), this pomeranian is thinking "if you come near my ass (literally) w that blow-dryer and hair spray one more time... i'll bite your freaking fingers off! all of them"

great weekend- great friends and good stuff. why are monday's so painful?? actually- monday's seem to fly by for me, its the rest of the week that's the issue.... going to have a positive attitude though, and go find last.com rather than pandora to jam out to at work today/this week. someone turned me on to it so i can't take credit for finding it but none the less i am sure i'll spread the word. 

hmmm what else?? not much, waiting for our dept to get cracking on the planning of the trip to snowboard at a nearby mtn. i'm excited to try again and i WILL master. 

i went to visit lara's amazing sister and her husband on the upper west side sat night. not surprising that the whole family is amazing and special and also great listeners! they took us to gus and gabriel 222 west 79th st btwn amsterdam and b'way 212.362.7470 all bar food/comfort food on 79th near amsterdam. the nachos were to die and had my burger been cooked medium like i asked for, i would have been in love. also has pork and cheese tots! (and some of lara's brisket sandwich :0 i love this whole family! oh- we also shared an amazing sundae.... i am ashamed to post the pic i snapped as it is sooo blurry but you can tell how large the spread was! ps- stole another pic from the web to show the beauty of the grub. cheers!

the unthinkable has happened... CURLY's

i fell in love w a vegetarian restaurant that i visited w brooke and vanessa!!! curly's 328 easy 14th street (bet 1st and 2nd ave) 212.598.9998 i have never had such tasty and flavorful grub! i have huevos rancheros and tortilla soup. we had to wait abt 30 mins to eat (the place is tiny and well worth a wait). during that 30 mins i saw everyone else's food come out and everything looked to die for. there was a HUGE red velvet cake on a stand by the register and i will get a slice one day soon- we were way too full aft brunch even though we had dreams of getting a slice prior. yummmmm. there are crayon colored pics all around the restaurant frm patrons and some are quite badass, this spot is a winner (and i'm a damn carnivore!).

chili how i have neglected thee!

i haven't posted in a week! the past week has been insane w company wide meetings in the city where the whole company came together and i helped w planning and set up... been up at 5:30 or so every morn this week and the one day (today i could have slept in -til 7:30) i had to get up at 6:30 to take the car in to vw for some maintenance. there was still time for some drinking and bowling (on tha company) check me and v's socks above- can you guess which socks are mine?

hmm what else has happened? i have discovered i am bad at applying condiments to hot dogs, that i can lift heavy boxes and that i can shovel snow for 45 minutes to get outta my parking spot! this weekend will be pretty chill and am having a day of movies brunch and slumber party w the ladies on valentines day. i could not despise this farce of a "holiday" any more and i will be showing my friends i love them ;) if you have a man/woman you should always be nice and sweet to them and most important- give them candy. why is there one day out of the year this should take place?? puh-leeze.... i know what i'll be getting liz (see above).

and that someone would be ME. i can only play darts when intoxicated and boy can i throw sometimes! arjun and i also waxed tutul and mike in foosball! these fun games and a great jukebox can be found at finnertys (2nd ave bet 13/14th streets) pretty good times.

nonna, bachelor, wine and fwiends...

last night i took marrah to la nonna where every special person in my life gets treated :) we ate like queens and went to 'da wine spot' on lorimer to get a couple of bottles and then home to watch the bachelor while laughing hysterically at the stupidity that is "reality" tv- always amusing. nonna i love you!

in other news i like the idea of this website for gifts/flowers and love the idea of supporting local businesses as opposed to 1800-flowers-barf. so much better than than the same ole flower delivery if you're into that kind of thing.

lots of work today so gotta keep it short (just like the weekend felt). MARRAH is here! :) one of my bestest's forever. always chill and easy going and marrah is one of my homies that i can go months without talking to and pick up right where we left off like it was yesterday. she's here mostly for work but we have had some great dinners, drinks and even a lil dancin. we went w banabn to a bday party saturday night at red velevt 174 rivington (bet attorney and clinton) this place is NARROW and $$$ ($16-18 for a red bull vodka!??!) i say 16-16 bc i ordered 1st for and was charged 16, later i ordered the same and was charged 18 (assholes). i only paid 16 the second time bc bet your bippy i told the guy he was nuts... he didn't like me much after that and i am quite sure he poured me a phat glass of shelf vodka- hence me being ILL from 4:30-6am (again- asshole). the dj was dope and the crowd was pretty decent but oh when they decided to turn the narrow airplane space into a strobe light disco i almost tossed my cookies (same w lara and marrah). sunday lara and i brunched at teddys where they have installed a fire place in the back room and now i really want to move in! we also visited the local duane reade for a field trip and we are now obsessed w the wheely carts tht only 96 yr old ladys should be seen with (see pic). later roth and marrah and i ordered thai and watched 6 hrs of grammys (taylor swift won album of the year-eh... i guess....) roth brought 3 of the most amazing pastries i have ever had (thank you!) and i forgot to take pics :( happy monday
