REALLY!??

i can't be trusted w my tv lately. i have a food manager, i think i need a tv manager. i actually watched a "G" rated movie last night called 'you're so cupid'. horendous! am ashamed, it was wretched but i had nothing else to do! then i watched 'the kids are all right'. which is in fact alright at best. it was cute and julianne moore is my obsession but this flick didn't really impress me all that much. annette also plays a fab lesbian and does the character complete justic the way it was written but the character just annoyed me for some reason (even tho i think she's supposed to).

what happens on the tv when I am left to my own devices?

why stopping on a showtime movie called 'not since you' of course. cheesy romantic movie all alone on the sofa? why not? because you always end up SAPPY and WHINY that's why! there's a dude from dexter as was a real annoying chick from other tv specials and a funny cute little fella from stellar movies like meet the parents and the faculty. name a flick w a blatant chick flick title and I'll be sure to pause, watch, cry. the thing about this flick was it all took place at a wedding, the setting- the south (georgia) and the locations- beautiful! if I had a 60 acre plantation an old time car, rivers, streams, golf carts, and shooting ranges I would def want the exact same wedding! all the scenery was the best part of this movie, everything else was a 5/10. the soundtrack also out acted the actors a bit and I found a REAL cheesy song/band that I fancy (griffin house).

furniture esp when using recycled/reclaimed materials. making things out of things that were once something else; new life into vintage life. this place looks like they do a cool job.

hip brooklyn

meatballs, ice cream cones, laser beams and swits!

this weekend was not wasted by any means. despite the 100 degree weather, I made it out to EAT, dance and sweat. I also learned new terms for the following: sweaty ass, sweaty balls, sweaty tits, v-v and tits themselves. they are as follows: swass, swalls, swits, boom box and turn tables. lots of learning and lots of drinking this weekend.

jager bombs were in full effect @ the cove which is fast becoming NOT a hidden gem any longer (frown) with many hip hop lovers from around the burros funneling in. I danced a jig (or 12) for cc when I dragged him w me sat night ;) needed to dance off them balls (and other deliciousness) from meat ball shop. i highly recommend the polenta and the white beans as sides! mmm take a look at the spread and the amazing cucumber/gin drink they had as a special- very tasty and refreshing!!

fri night we all went to cove as well (groupies?) where it was house/techno and mad laser beams! saturday and sunday were HOT and meant for laying around the house and watching movies and the dopest video game ever made (yes watching not playing). limbo is the coolest mind bending visually awesome and artsy puzzle game. every frame of the game should be a piece of art, its really beautiful, and to watch a true brain (cc) figure out the impossible tricks and puzzles is quite amusing as well! sunday was a NAUGHTY day! after calexico mexican food that was yumm as always I ended up w a soft serve ice cream, a snickers ice ceem bar, some moz sticks and spinach poopers later in the evening :) I think that's all I got for today… can't wait for the beach this weekend/next week!

cookin

when i actually take the time, i really love cooking. so relaxing, so rewarding and soooo delish. when you cook for someone and share it's even better! ;) last night i made zucchini enchiladas w hommeade sauce and now i'm obsessed w sauces! it was super spicy w quite a few jalapenos (maybe one too many) but someone i know is of the camp that it can never be too spicy and i think i am on that wagon now as well. i bought a wand mixer for it since i didn't want to buy (or store) a big ole blender. not to toot my horn but it came out pretty damn good i think. on to the next recipe! here's a pic or 2, both very sloppy so i apologize! lil piggy ate half of it before i remembered to snap a photo!

my newest addition to the apt is this really neat kids toy (or art as i call it). hand carved by a chick from north carolina and exclusively made for one of my FAVORITE new shops in the hood. r.b.w (raised by wolves) has the coolest name and the coolest goods. clothes, bags, vintage zippos, mens stuff gals stuff and all hand picked by the adorable and very tasteful owner. go check it out! franklin street at india. the top pic is my shelf and unfortunately the bottom pic is not my closet but an interior pic of r.b.w

fri actually stayed at work til normal time on a summer friday! very proud of self.... then ness and i went to explore the point since she's movin in- 2 blocks away! yay! we ate at thai cafe (5/10 stars) and chilled @ my place and then met liz and 2 of her friends for pickle backs,beers and shots. made it to legion where brit was on the 1's and 2's and danced the even away! (after being a balabbering whiny face and telling all cc's friends i was gonna beat him for showing up @ 1am (OOPS :) hehehehe.

saturday i met DEXTER the cutest dog ever in midtown and chilled on a really nice roof- cocktails and good convo. then down to the LES to bar hop where i quickly lost interest and made it home around 4am.

sunday was a worthless day of whining and being hung over. booooo. BUT i did make it to crif dogs and then to vamos al tequila on franklin ave where i have been wanting to dine. it was REAL good and fresh! always happy to find great mexican fare in the hood.

there are sooo many new places to eat and do that it continues to make me wuv brooklyn/nyc more and more. my list is below:

+ MEATBALL SHOP on bedford – super duper psyched but hoping it won't turn into a shitshow and thinking it prob will :( I will be going here asap in hopes that not EVERYone knows its open yet. they have veggie balls so no excuses for cc

+ nighthawk theatre- finally a small indie theatre w food and booze that seems extra hipster and cool (I'd really also like a main stream'r like amc please) thanks!> this place also has flicks running now like midnight in paris so they're not entirely niche indie so its a rad start and a good mix

+ beet (in park slope) where I have been asked to go on a date but its not been scheduled yet. waiting….

+ la piazzetta (greenpoint) where I have asked someone on a date but have not scheduled it yet :)

MUST POST and am boring and have nothing to say!

hmmm, there's always FOOD to discuss. i shall review the falafel place kestane i found on menupages for greenpoint i ordered last eve. the falafel was not as grainy/crispy in the ratio that i tend to prefer, BUT the filo feta cheese thingys were devine as was the shepards salad (tomato, cucumber, onions in a vinegrette). mmmm, may have also had some lentil soup which was yummy however was a puree rather than whole lentil guys floatin around in there. quick delivery! 4 out of 5 stars. fell asleep watching bachelorette and now i don't know who ashley kicked off!!!!!!! ughhhh. the end.

summer weekends

so painful to be indoors when the weather is like so. i enjoyed it this weekend! friday left work around 4 met vanessa to go apt hunting in the point! then i met cc, drank some dranks, whipped his ass in foosball :) and we had a midnight snack at papacitos and chilled in early. by midnight snack i mean: corn, chips and guac, and a huge soyrizo quesadilla. saturday went to long beach! it was a beautiful beach day and we got there in a quick 30 mins! sat night i wore reallly short shorts which cc and alex did not approve of (they don't look THAT short in this pic), went dancing and didn't make it out too long before i had to be escorted home :( i drank a wee bit too much vodka in a wee short time in some wee short shorts! sunday was FERRY day and into the city to see horrible bosses. it was cute, could've waited for the dvd though. i was served popcorn and soda to my seat! :)

excited to watch the bachelorette tonight and excited for the weekend already!

lex, chad and i were workin hard at the cudi show that i probably would (not) have paid $60 a ticket for!! can't believe people did no matter that he's dope and it was a good show. the avg age of the show goer's = 16 i can't believe kids these days, my moms would have given me $60 to go to a hip hop show in williamsburg but then again i didn't grow up here so... working the vitaminwater station was a blast esp when dealing w these kids. the weather was great and the show was entertaining, he's a good stage presence and talks quite a bit but its enjoyable. i'm tired and fried BUT its THURSDAY already. sweet.

ocean city!

best weekend EVER. it included but was not limited to: the chillest cutest beach town ever, a cozy beach house that rivals a 5 star resort, sand, sun, twin beds, ice keem, ferris wheels, boardwalks, great dining, fun family (even though they weren't mine :) jellyfish (dead) :(, biking, smiles, the GRAVITRON (after 3 lbs of eggplant parm pasta- damn you CC!) and fond memories. I miss it so much! thanks to cc and fam for such a splendid time! xo

the 4th was even better. I didn't expect much since I knew we were not going to trek into the city to see fireworks bc of the pain in the ass of it all so the BBQ and drinking and home fireworks at matt and bre's were outstanding! april, and bre always make the most amazing themed foods and deserts when they have peeps over and its delightful (see pics attached!) I ate and drank my face off and enjoyed ev minute (must repent this week and BEHAVE). we managed to see most of the macy's works from the roof in bklyn! a great treat :) oh- did i bring a 12 pack party pack of taco bell to the jam? yep, sure did!

thank jesus for a short work week.
