mommy is here

mom and aunt shirl are in town for a few days! last night we went to patsy's 236 w 56th st (bet 8th ave and b'way) 212.247.3491 yummm! this place is a scene and everyone you can think of has been in (it was sinatra's fav chow stop back in the diz-ay). the chef and owner for years is probably the nicest man i have ever met. he came around to every table upstairs where they stick the tourists (which we got stuck in bc i called for a table and said i was with tourists that are nuts and could we please have a table). he asked about the food and had his son (prob 10 years old) w him as he honed him to be as great as an owner one day. there are pics with sal the owner all over with people like ben stiller, sex and the city cast, leno, chris rock.... there was a wayne newton look alike singing old songs upstairs that serenaded my mom a few times! the food- fantastic! i had chicken marsala and antipasto appetizer which we all enjoyed. everything was realy tasty and not quickly put together and throw on a table like most tourist spots bc they know you'll come in-- so why should the food be good. this spot is delicious. the only drawback-- was the lady on the phone telling me they'd validate my parking for the lot across the street. once validated the total was $28. THAAAANKs for the deal. shmucks! aside from that i will visit this spot again if ever i find myself in my old neighborhood again (i'll just street park).
