marlow & sons

finally ventured to marlow & sons 81 broadway (near bedford) 718.384.1441 this is what i love about new york in general; there's so much to try so many spots that open and you can put em' in your back pocket for a fun night out because there are so many options for food and fun... anyhow i really enjoyed this spot. the front room is like an awesome hipsters cracker barrel selling tons of (good brands) of candy, organic chocolates, chips, teas, spreads etc. with a really cute rustic feel and a great little coffee and check out counter. there's also a great selection of sweet treats from things in wrappers to things that are baked and set on platters. the back room is equally as dimly lit with more chunky country table and benches and a bar. the menu is small and not cheap but worth it and is always supplemented with specials so you may want to call ahead. it seems all the food is all made with love. each dish was deelish; i had some of the onion soup some of the prosciutto and a cheese selection as well as a frittata of sorts (made of potato's and onion) * warning this is served cold, but was still tasty. and the brocolli rabe (served with a sauce containing sausage and black eyed peas). i think that was my fav. down the block is marlow and daughters a neat little butcher like shop with all types of great things to take home.
