another great topper to the morning was a glimpse of what's to come in my life- being a single spinster cleaning up cat poop and cat barf all day every day! YAY!
happy f&cK8n friday! :)

e
16 glaceau employees take to "the korean restaurant" to be filmed for korean tv and eat their weight in kimchi and boingy rice patty things!

and for dessert a strawberry ice slush of sorts topped w fruit loops!

serkyburgers!

last night i made some gangster turkey burgers if i don't say so myself. can't reveal the secret tools to marinate the ground turkey BUT i will say that even m complemented them. also made a bit of salad and some turkey bacon to go atop the turkey burgers! turkey overload? NEVER! i was dumb and didn't snap pics :(
on another note i have discovered (via v) that one of my favorite shows on vh1 (best week ever) has a great blog/website that is just as humorous. check out the captions and the hilarity that became of this giselle "ad". link here: http://www.bestweekever.tv/

fette sau and lar lar

last night (i am proud to say) i introduced lar lar to fette sau 354 metropolitan ave (near havemeyer) 718.963.3404 i have written about fette at least a couple of times but i will always mention them bc their bbq is phenom. we shared: a bit of pulled pork, a bit o brisket and a bit of boneless ribs. also some potato salad, pickles, and broccoli :) the pulled pork was good but i have caught them on a better night. i heart this place, the decor, and the scent which you can smell from about a mile away. yummmmm
morning campers
there is a "sandwich" featured on: http://scanwiches.com/ that i
would like for lunch! this site is great and has totally random pics of amazing sandwiches. brilliant.

on a side note i was locked IN my apartment w my roommate for about an hour last night. no joke- the door wouldn't open. i called the super and he was there in about 15 mins and with a little help we got the door open. it's just funny to have thought about the email or phone call that i would have had to make to work had i not been rescued by the hassidys (aka hassid's (jews) that own and manage the bldg. pretty amusing stuff.
happy hump day!

3 hours of chick tv

last night i am (not) proud to say i sat in front of the tele for approx. 3 hours for the finale of the bachelorette and the premiere of dating in the dark! the bachelorette is hilarious and gets more and more redic each season as producers make silly things happen like 2 or 3 guys getting booted (or leaving on their own will) and "flying back" to propose cause they just can't take it.... riiight. i suppose it makes for good tv but it pisses me off as well. as for dating in the dark- this is some good stuff. its like a neat social experiment and weather its totally fake or not-it seems real and that's all that matters! in case you don't know its on abc and its 6 different people each show (3 guys, 3 girls) that go on a series of dates in a pitch black room and get to know one another without seeing each other. at first they all meet together and see who clicks w who. its pretty interesting. here's a link: http://abc.go.com/primetime/datinginthedark/index

the weekend is about closed...

saturday was a beautiful day and m and i ran all around the city to shop and ate brunch in greenpoint at river

barrel 160 franklin st (near kent street) 718.389.8881 it was delicious, and this is the 2nd voyage so i can safely add it to consistent yumm brunch spots. cole was w us all day so it was a fun one! he went to brunch and to all the stores in soho. he was so behaved and no matter where we were everyone was welcoming even though he's a 115lb big ass ball of love. i managed to spend way too much $$. why? bc i wasn't looking for anything and so i found everything i had been lookin for. i also realized i withdrew $120.00 and it was all gone after the following: dinner, 1 necklace, 1 banana split, 1 coffee, 1 water. ONLY in ny! the banana split was by far the best i have ever had. from the van leeuwen ice cream truck on bedford ave (near n 10th). this truck is no joke and has only about 6-8 flavors but they are all divine in quality and creaminess. most amazing and fresh split i have ever had.
sunday was lazy brunch at catherines in ft greene. another quality spot i have written about before w a great patio out back. then we went to lay in ft greene park for a sec. m had a family shiva cal so i went off on my own and walked around bedford a bit, sold some clothes at buffalo exchange (for a whopping $13.20) got an ice coffee at oslo and almost got in a horrible wreck w a dumbass in a green toyota. luckily i have decent reflexes. made it home to watch a couple of episodes of nyc prep and am anxiously awaiting dinner! papa johns where the EFF are you! damn.
happy sunday....

kinara in ft greene!

last night i was craving indian for the first time in a while! a while meaning i have not had it in a couple of years! we looked at menu pages for one sec and found kinara 368 myrtle (near clermont) 718.237.4008 it had great reviews and oh did it hold up to it's rep. the staff was the nicest and cutest little indian men that were on point and everything came out lightening fast! the place is amazing. i had chicken tikka masala and some spinach; we also had samosas as apps. they came out perfect- super hot and the crust was perfect as was the veggies and potatoes inside. yummmmmm. not the best lighting in this photo (ahem i did not take it) but the amazing spread is pictured here.
happy almost friday!

note from holidayinsights.com:
National Junk Food Day
When : Always July 21st
To some people, every day is Junk Food Day. For the rest of us, National Junk Food Day is an opportunity to guiltlessly eat your favorite junk food.
Dietitians will tell you that junk food is any food that contains little nutritional value. We also include foods that are high in salts, fats, and sugars. In other words, junk food is all that tasty stuff that the dietitians, and Mom, consider to be bad for us.
On Junk Food Day, you get to eat anything you want. Eat any amounts that you want, too. Tomorrow, however, it's back to a healthy diet.
Please Note: Junk food may be hazardous to your health. After all, mom knows what's best for you. Do so at your own risk. That risk includes Mom saying: "I told you so!"
enjoy....

my favorite little fellow
phil in central park

caught a tiny bit of anxiety shuffling among the other 100,000 (literally) people that came out of the wood work for the philharmonic free concert at the great lawn in central park. it was a great show and thankfully (thanks v) we had VIP seating on tons of blankets right up front. i brought quite the picnic spread- sopressata, sliced boars head chicken, some amazing goat/brie blend cheese i found by m's at choice greene and some pita chips, rasinettes, mini pickles, grapes (green) and prosciutto of course ;) i have never seen so many people at once. anyone who may suffer from agoraphobia would have immediately imploded on site! it was a cozy time and the weather was great! tomorrow its off to miami! so don't miss the posts for thursday and friday too much! i am sure mondays will make up for it.

soccer and dinosaurs!
last night kate and i attended m's soccer game on 137th and riverside dr. it was an amazing field and sports complex i never would have seen or know about. there are gardens within and beneath the field! the place was really neat and made me want to runaround the huge track- but alas; i was in sandals... the guys played awesome but didn't take the victory. as you can see jared works hard at (looking good) and o.g actually stands on the sidelines to cheer the entire game whilst kate and i parked it on the bleachers :) after the game gee gee and kate and i went to dinosaur bbq 646 w 131st street 212.694.1777 i have been trying to eat here since i discovered it about 2+ years ago (there's ALWAYS at leat a 45-hour wait) and had already eaten dinner before the game!!! so angry- kate and i drooled while m and g ate i decided not to be a super dub eff only bc i have to get into a bathing suit this week for MIAMI. i told our waiter i would have coffee only bc kate and i were models and weren't allowed to eat. he said "i can tell" in a slightly sarcastic manner (?hmmmm).

weekend update

saturday morning m made me amazing bfast! :) egg white omelette w mushrooms, scallions and spices and my fav bacon from the shop around the corner and it was BIKE day! so exciting- i am getting over my fear of biking in nyc traffic and am excited to get a move on. we did a measly 6/7 miles but that's better than nothing. sat night we ate mexican and saw 'public enemies'. all i can say is johnny makes any movie he's in a great movie. yes i am in lust w him, but he does happen to be a fant

astic actor!
sunday was shopping day w liz in manhattan. i bought a cheap pair of hooker heels ($29) at strawberry (don't care! love the place). then we went to the former mccarron pool concerts which are now at "east river park" which i will never call east river park- i call it wythe park (even though its not on wythe ave its on kent). hipsters love their bikes- look at how many lined the street! sunday night was a dominos feat-a-plenty. mmm. oh- i also gave cole a present- a steak! much better than a taxi cab (which is admittedly cute) but we don't accept gifts from random chicks on m's soccer team do we cole!?? :) ha- i am such a hater!
happy monday!

billy bob can (could) act!

i forgot what an amazing movie sling blade was. by far billy bob thorton's best role (i think). you struggle to realize it's him he does such an amazing job as does the little boy played by lucas black (was as cute then as he is now rrrraawwwrt). lucas black can be seen these days in fast and furious tokyo drift and jarhead.did i fall asleep before the movies end? you betcha- but its ok i have seen it but m had not! anyhoo... if you have not seen sling blade watch it!
